Tigers Were No Match for Eagan's Size
Farmington, MN- The Tigers hosted #6 in 4A Eagan Wildcats. After trailing 0-4 in the first set the Tigers relaxed tying the score 7-7. Shortly after, Eagan took a 13-8 lead forcing a Tiger timeout. With two back to back missed serves Eagan continued the lead 20-15. Roselyn Bot responded for Farmington with back to back aces tying the game back at 21-21. Another missed serve and a few scrappy plays lead to a Wildcat first set victory 25-23.
Set two was a slightly different story, Eagan started up 5-1 and then 10-4 resulting in a Farmington timeout. Wildcats went on another 5-1 run leading 15-5 before yet another Tiger timeout. From that point on the Tigers battled back and forth but couldn't break the deficit losing 16-25.
The Wildcats took the momentum into the third set building a very comfortable lead 10-2. After a timeout, Farmington went on a 4-0 run trailing 6-10. Eagan created another gap in the score leading 21-13 but the Tigers did not give up. Another 4-0 run with another Bot ace brought the score to 17-21. The Tigers ran out of gas at that point losing 17-24.
The Tigers were led defensively by Elexis West. Led in kills by Addison Otto with 5, Ramsie Witt and Taylor Hagedorn with 4 a piece and Braelyn Hendrickson with 3. Roselyn Bot with 3 aces, Otto with 3 blocks and Maddy Dombeck with 16 set assists.
Final Score - Eagan defeats Farmington 25-23, 25-16, 25-20, and 25-17.
