Tigers Dominate Rosemount In 65-45 Boys Basketball Victory

Rosemount, Minn. -- In a decisive SSC boys basketball game on January 23, the Farmington Tigers claimed victory over the Rosemount Irish with a final score of 65-45.

With the win, the Farmington Tigers now boast a season record of 12-3, with a conference standing of 6-1 in the South Suburban Conference (SSC). On the flip side, the Rosemount Irish's record drops to 5-9 overall and 2-5 in the SSC.

The game unfolded in two halves, with the Tigers dominating the first half with a score of 32 against Rosemount' 24. The second half saw the Tigers extending their lead further with a score of 33 to the Irish's 21. The cumulative outcome, a 20-point victory for the Tigers, showcased their dominance on the court.

Farmington displayed commendable shooting accuracy with a 40.0% field goal success rate compared to Rosemount's 26.2%. The Tigers' effective field goal percentage stood at 45.8%, outclassing the Irish's 30.0%. Notably, Farmington excelled in 3-point shooting, making 7 out of 22 attempts at a 31.8% success rate, while Rosemount struggled at 18.5% with 5 successful attempts out of 27.

The free-throw line proved advantageous for the Tigers, boasting an 83.3% success rate, while the Irish lagged at 42.9%. Farmington's offensive prowess extended to points in the paint, where they outscored Rosemount 32 to 16. Additionally, the Tigers showcased their dominance in transition points (10 to 8), offensive rebounds (11 to 16), and steals (5 to 5).
