Lakeville, Minn. -- In a highly anticipated boys' basketball clash on January 2, Farmington High School emerged victorious over Lakeville North High School, securing a 77-67 win on the road. The game showcased the skills of two top-ten teams in the state of Minnesota, both undefeated in South Suburban Conference play. Farmington's impressive performance elevated their season record to 9-1, with a flawless 3-0 record in SSC, while Lakeville North now stands at 6-3 overall, 2-1 in conference play.
The initial half saw Farmington taking control, posting a 36-28 lead by halftime. The Tigers extended their dominance in the second half, adding 41 more points to their tally, ultimately securing the 77-67 victory. The Lakeville North Panthers fought hard, but Farmington's resilience proved decisive.
Individual player performances played a crucial role in Farmington's success. Brandon Hrncir led the scoring charts with 25 points, supported by notable contributions from Cole Wilcek (14 points), Ryan Beckwith (12 points), and Tyler Beckwith (15 points).
