ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers came up short in the final game of the Capitol City Classic at Hamline University, falling 71-64 to the Rochester John Marshall Rockets on Saturday night. With the loss, the Tigers move to 4-3 overall and 1-1 in South Suburban Conference play heading into the new year.
RECAP
Farmington started strong, carrying a 34-32 lead into halftime behind a hot shooting stretch from Marshall Gordon and Ryan Beckwith. The Tigers held firm for much of the second half, but a late push by the Rockets, led by Eli Ladu's 25 points, proved too much to overcome.
Gordon paced the Tigers offensively with 24 points, while Beckwith added 14 points of his own. Cole Wilcek contributed 10 points, providing a consistent presence inside the paint. Despite the Tigers' effort, Rochester John Marshall's balanced scoring attack sealed the victory with 39 second-half points.
