FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers overcame a determined Waconia Wildcats squad on Thursday night, earning a 66-60 victory at Farmington High School. The win improved the Tigers to 4-1 on the season, while Waconia fell to 0-4.

Farmington controlled much of the game, building multiple double-digit leads, including a 31-20 advantage at halftime. Waconia refused to go quietly, trimming the Tigers' lead to a single possession several times in the second half. Despite the pressure, Farmington's balanced scoring and clutch free-throw shooting sealed the win.
Gianna Carpentier led all scorers with 22 points, including two three-pointers and a perfect 4-for-4 effort at the free-throw line. Carly Olson added 18 points, showing poise under pressure by hitting 7 of 8 free throws.
The Tigers' defensive intensity was a game-changer, as they forced 22 turnovers and scored 16 points off those opportunities. Farmington also dominated second-chance points, outscoring the Wildcats 11-5 thanks to ten offensive rebounds.
