EDINA, Minn. – In a clash of top-ranked teams, the #6 Farmington Tigers dropped their 2024-25 season opener to the #5 Champlin Park Rebels, 67-54, on Saturday in the Breakdown Tip Off Classic. Despite a strong first-half effort, the Tigers couldn't overcome Champlin Park's balanced attack in this non-conference matchup.
RECAP
Champlin Park established an early lead with a 39-31 halftime advantage, capitalizing on turnovers and transition opportunities. Tyler Wagner led the charge for the Rebels with 24 points, including seven made free throws, while Mohamed Jalloh added 11 points with strong inside play.
Farmington kept pace in the first half, with Cole Wilcek dominating the offensive end. Wilcek finished the night with a team-high 26 points, including a perfect 12-for-12 from the free-throw line. However, the Tigers struggled from beyond the arc, converting just 2 of 25 attempts (8%), which hampered their ability to close the gap in the second half.
The Rebels' defense tightened in the final 20 minutes, forcing Farmington into tough shots and turnovers. Champlin Park outscored Farmington 28-23 in the second half to secure the victory.

- Cole Wilcek led all scorers with 26 points, adding 8 rebounds and 2 steals.
- Nik Domier contributed 9 points on an efficient 4-for-5 shooting night.
- Briggs Sheridan added 4 points, 2 rebounds, and a pair of assists.
