Farmington, Minn. -- The Farmington Tigers have secured the #2 seed in the MSHSL Section 1 Class AAAA boys basketball tournament and will prepare to take on the #7 seeded Rochester John Marshall Rockets.
The quarterfinal game is set to begin on Tuesday, March 5, at 8:01 pm. Farmington will host the Rockets at Farmington High School, with doors opening for spectators at 7:15 pm.
With a commendable 20-6 record, the Tigers enter the postseason with strong momentum, marking their second 20-win season in three years. Their notable victories include wins over the some of the state's top opponents such as Lakeville North, Shakopee, Lakeville South, and Edina and underscore their readiness for the playoffs. The Tigers and Rockets did not meet during the 2023-24 regular season. JM enters the game riding a 2-game winning streak after beating Mankato West and Red Wing to close out the year.
The Tigers boast a potent offensive lineup led by Brandon Hrncir, who comes into the game averaging 20.5 points per game. Complementing Hrncir's scoring are Tyler Beckwith, averaging 11.9 points per game, and Nik Domier, contributing an average of 10.2 points per game. Their combined offensive firepower poses a significant challenge for any opponent.

All section games have a $10 ticket price for adults and $6 price for students. SSC, Family, and Activity passes will not be accepted. Only valid Region 1 AA passes will grant admission.
