Minneapolis, Minn. -- In a nail-biting MSHSL Class AAAA quarterfinal clash, the #4 Farmington Tigers lost a heartbreaker against the #5 Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders, with the Raiders edging out a 57-56 victory.
The well-attended game at the Target Center saw both teams exchanging blows throughout the entirety of the match.
Cretin-Derham Hall took an early lead in the first half, outscoring Farmington 31-28 at halftime. However, the Tigers roared back in the second half, matching the Raiders point for point. Despite Farmington's efforts, they fell just short of victory in the final moments of the game.
For the Raiders'Â squad, Joe Mitchell delivered a standout performance, leading his team with 23 points, supported by Monteff Dixon's crucial 10-point contribution.
On the Farmington side, Brandon Hrncir and Nik Domier led the charge with 12 and 13 points respectively, while Tyler Beckwith added 11 points to the Tigers' tally.Â
With this defeat, Farmington High School will now regroup and prepare for their upcoming consolation bracket matchup against the Rogers Royals. The Tigers will play on Thursday, March 21, at Concordia University in a 10:00 am game. The Rogers Royals suffered a 77-64 defeat against Wayzata in their quarterfinal encounter.
