Farmington, Minn. -- It was one of those nights in Farmington. The Tigers survived an overtime scare against the seventh-seeded John Marshall Rockets in a classic, 78-69.
The Tigers outlasted a cold start to the game by stringing together triples en route to a 14-point halftime lead.
Ryan Beckwith canned four from beyond the arc and would go on to lead all scorers with 20 points.
The Tigers quickly were tested in the second half as they saw their vast lead evaporate in a matter of minutes after another cold start to a half. The Tigers outlasted the insane comeback from John Marshall and had a chance to win the game, tied at 64 with a half minute to go.
The Tigers got the ball in the hands of
Brandon Hrncir, but he was tied up in the lane and a jump ball gave possession to the Rockets with four seconds remaining. They got a really good look up at the buzzer, but it was too long. The Tigers capitalized in overtime to move on and host another section semifinal this Saturday.
