APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – After a huge road homecoming week victory, the Tigers headed to Apple Valley for a battle with the Eagles. The first set was a fierce back-and-forth battle, with the Tigers ultimately securing a close 25-23 win against a scrappy Apple Valley team.
The second set mirrored the first, with both teams trading points and runs of no more than three. Once again, the Tigers edged out the Eagles 25-23, looking for a sweep. However, the Eagles fought back, taking set three 25-23 and displaying their resilience.
In set four, Apple Valley's relentless defense proved too much for the Tigers. The Eagles capitalized on every opportunity and claimed the set 25-16, pushing the match to a decisive fifth set.
Set five was a nail-biter, with neither team able to build a lead greater than three points. Despite the setback from set four, the Tigers regrouped and managed to pull out a 17-15 win in the final set, clinching the match 3-2.
Jada Henrikson collected a team high 16 kills, while Ramsie Witt and Adison Otto tallied 15 apiece. Elexis West with 22 digs on the night, Lila Johannsen with 16, and Mya Sharp had 14. Addison Gibart, with a huge defensive night on the net, had 4 blocks.
Final Score - Farmington defeats Apple Valley 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, 16-25, 17-15.
Location - Apple Valley High School, Apple Valley Minnesota.
Records - Farmington 7-4, Apple Valley 5-2.
