APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers dropped a 75-58 decision to the Apple Valley Eagles in South Suburban Conference action on Friday night at Apple Valley High School. The Tigers, now 5-5 overall and 2-3 in SSC play, struggled to overcome turnovers and Apple Valley's strong inside presence. The Eagles improve to 7-1 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
RECAP
Farmington got off to a solid start, building a 20-11 lead midway through the first half. However, the Eagles stormed back with a 23-6 run to close the half, fueled by their transition offense and points in the paint. Apple Valley took a 34-26 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Tigers trimmed the deficit to five points early, thanks to the sharpshooting of Briggs Sheridan, who finished with 18 points, and Ryan Beckwith, who added 12 points and dished out 10 assists. Despite their efforts, Apple Valley capitalized on Farmington's turnovers and outscored the Tigers 41-32 after halftime to secure the win.
Farmington struggled to find consistency offensively, shooting just 33.3% from the field and committing 21 turnovers. Apple Valley dominated inside, scoring 42 points in the paint and grabbing 10 offensive rebounds.
