Girls Basketball Takes Down Shakopee In SSC Play

SHAKOPEE, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers earned a 59-44 road victory over the Shakopee Sabers on Tuesday night in South Suburban Conference action. The win improves the Tigers to 8-5 overall and 2-4 in SSC play.

Farmington started strong, taking a 34-31 lead into halftime behind a balanced offensive attack and tenacious rebounding. The Tigers' defense locked down in the second half, holding the Sabers to just 13 points while outscoring them by 12 to secure the win.

The Tigers shot 36.0% from the field and an impressive 50.0% from beyond the arc. Farmington's ability to crash the boards made the difference, as they dominated on the glass with 16 offensive rebounds, leading to 14 second-chance points.

Key contributions came from Gianna Carpentier, who led all scorers with 16 points, and Hannah Hansen, who chipped in 11 points while impacting the game on both ends of the court.
