EAGAN, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers cross country teams closed out the South Suburban Conference championship meet on Friday with strong finishes at Eagan High School. The girls team placed 2nd out of 10 teams in a competitive field, while the boys secured a 3rd-place team finish in their final tune-up before the postseason.
Girls Varsity Recap
Led by another top-5 performance from junior Lauren Lansing, the Farmington girls placed five runners in the top 30 to earn runner-up honors with 76 points—just 20 points behind team champion Prior Lake.
Lansing clocked in at 19:11.13 to place 2nd overall in the 5,000-meter race. Eighth-grader Shelby Carroll turned in a personal-best time of 20:04.64 to finish 9th, followed by ninth-grader Mara Brock in 12th place at 20:19.14. Mia Tooley (25th, 21:13.18) and Lillian Reuss (28th, 21:27.10) rounded out the scoring lineup. Charlotte Spolarich (48th) also contributed with a solid race in the team's sixth spot.
Boys Varsity Recap
On the boys side, sophomore Carter Lippold continued to lead the Tigers, placing 4th overall with a time of 16:28.40. He was followed closely by Patrick Carroll (10th, 16:59.46) and senior Adam Johnson (15th, 17:12.06), as Farmington finished with 102 points to claim 3rd place behind Rosemount and Lakeville North.
Rounding out the scoring for the Tigers were Kieran Willenbring (36th), Aidan Gillespie (37th), and Evan Buss (38th), all finishing within a three-second window. Thomas Crisp (45th) and Wesley Toensing (64th) added depth for a team that showed strength throughout the lineup.

The Tigers now turn their focus to the postseason as they prepare for the Section 1AAA Championships, where state meet berths will be on the line. The Section 1AAA meet will be held on Thursday, October 23 at the Owatonna Brooktree Golf Course.
