Sam Kendall Selected As New Head Girls Swim & Dive Coach

FARMINGTON, Minn. – Farmington High School Athletic Director, Keith Badger, announced on Monday that, pending school board approval, Sam Kendall has been named the next girls swimming & diving head coach at Farmington High School.

Coach Kendall began his coaching career in 2019 and brings a blend of club and high school coaching experience to Farmington. He has coached at the club level with Life Time Swim Team and South Metro Storm Swim Club, and has spent the past six years as a coach at the high school level. Most recently, Kendall served as the Head Boys Swim and Dive Coach and Assistant Girls Swim and Dive Coach at Eden Prairie High School, where he spent two seasons. Prior to his time at Eden Prairie, he was the Head Girls Swim and Dive Coach at East Ridge High School in Woodbury for two years.

A graduate of Rosemount High School, Kendall was a standout swimmer, earning All-Conference, All-State, and All-American honors. He was recognized as team MVP, Most Improved, and served as a team captain. During his high school career, he was part of the Section 3AA record-setting 200 freestyle relay team. Following high school, Kendall continued his swimming career at St. Cloud State University.

"I'm super excited to join the Farmington family. As a native to the area, I know how awesome this program has been for decades with some great coaches before me. Looking forward to adding my own brand into the program and helping these swimmers and divers grow and blossom as athletes and people," stated Kendall.

"Sam brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to our girls swim & dive program. I'm really excited to support his work developing our program", stated Athletic Director Keith Badger.

Coach Kendall will be working with his staff and booster club to finalize summer participation opportunities. The plans will be available on the FarmingtonTigers.com website when available.

Registration for the 2025 season will open up on Wednesday, May 14, 2025. Additional information regarding registration can be found, HERE.
