BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers girls golf team officially opened their 2025 season on Thursday afternoon, competing in the Crystal Cup Scramble at Crystal Lake Golf Course. The Tigers entered three two-player teams into the event and came away with strong results, highlighted by a fifth-place finish among a competitive field.

The pairing of Alana Hansen and Jayla Mao led the way for Farmington, carding a 73 (+2) to place fifth overall. Hansen and Mao played consistent golf throughout the round, highlighted by steady play on both the front and back nines. Their round included a 37 on the front and a 36 on the back, helping Farmington start the season on a high note.
The team of Riley Ball and Scarlett Hedrick also delivered a solid performance, shooting a 79 (+8) to finish 17th overall. Ball and Hedrick's round was marked by strong teamwork and solid approach shots.
Rounding out the Tigers' effort, seniors Abby Steinke and Annika Reuss posted an 83 (+12) to place 23rd. Their experience and communication helped them stay steady throughout the challenging course conditions.
TOP TEAMS
The Tigers showed strong early-season form, demonstrating solid course management and teamwork as they prepare for South Suburban Conference play ahead.
UP NEXT
Farmington will continue its early season schedule next week with another non-conference invitational before beginning SSC competition later this month.
