FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers opened South Suburban Conference play with a straight-set victory over Apple Valley on Wednesday night at Farmington High School. The Tigers held off the Eagles in three tightly contested sets, earning a 3-0 win by scores of 25-23, 25-23, and 25-22 to improve to 1-0 in SSC competition.

Farmington relied on balanced offensive production and strong serving to secure the home win. The Tigers edged Apple Valley in each set with late-point execution, including clutch defensive stops and well-placed attacks. After claiming the first two sets by identical 25-23 margins, Farmington rallied in the third from a small deficit to close out the match 25-22.
The Tigers posted a team hitting percentage of .120 and served at a 97.1 percent clip in the third set, allowing them to stay in system throughout the match. Their defense held firm, finishing with 59 digs and 5.5 total blocks to limit Apple Valley's chances at the net.
TOP TIGERS
Elexis West led the Tigers with a team-high .667 hitting percentage and added 23 serve-receive attempts with a 2.09 rating. Addison Otto contributed eight kills while hitting .250, and Braelyn Hendrickson added four kills on a .200 clip. Finley Miller was perfect on her two attacks, posting a 1.000 hitting percentage, and Kayley Schuenemann recorded a .500 mark on limited swings. Taylor Hagedorn and West directed the offense with a combined 29 assists. Defensively, Hagedorn and Sabrina Caven paced the team in digs with 14 and 23, respectively.
