FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers volleyball team earned a third-place finish at their home invitational on Saturday, Sept. 13, posting a 3-1 record on the day in front of a supportive home crowd at Farmington High School.

The Tigers opened the tournament with a back-and-forth match against Red Wing, ultimately coming away with a 2-0 victory after a narrow 24-21 first set and a strong close in set two, 25-22.
Farmington carried that momentum into its second match, sweeping Pine City 2-0 behind consistent play and timely serving. The Tigers claimed both sets 25-21.
In the afternoon semifinal, Farmington faced a tough Jordan squad and fell 0-2 (10-25, 15-25), marking their only loss of the tournament.
The Tigers bounced back in the third-place match with a dominant 2-0 win over Andover, controlling both sets with scores of 25-13 and 25-15 to close out the day on a high note.

Farmington heads back into South Suburban Conference play with a road match at Lakeville North on Tuesday, Sept. 16. First serve is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
