ROCHESTER, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers girls volleyball team earned a key Section 1AAAA victory on Wednesday night, defeating Rochester Mayo 3-1 (25-10, 26-28, 25-19, 25-18) on the road. The win moves Farmington to 2-1 on the season and strengthens their positioning for postseason seeding.

Farmington set the tone early, dominating the first set with a 25-10 win behind strong serving and clean execution. Mayo responded in set two, outlasting the Tigers in a back-and-forth battle to win 28-26 and even the match at one set apiece.
From there, the Tigers regained control. A balanced offensive attack and improved serve receive helped Farmington pull away in the third set, 25-19. The fourth saw more of the same, as the Tigers limited errors and closed out the match with a 25-18 win.
Farmington outpaced Mayo in nearly every statistical category, finishing with a .168 hitting percentage, 13 aces, and 60 digs. The Tigers also posted a season-high 3.50 team blocks.

- Braelyn Hendrickson led the way offensively, hitting .400 with two aces and one dig.
- Addison Otto added a .308 hitting percentage and one block.
- Taylor Hagedorn contributed four aces, 13 digs, and a .185 hitting percentage.
- Lexi West anchored the back row with 19 digs and two aces, finishing with a 2.16 serve receive rating.
- Kayla Trembley recorded a .143 hitting percentage and 1.5 blocks per set.
- Sabrina Caven chipped in with seven digs, while Lila Johannsen had a perfect serve percentage and three digs.
UP NEXT
Farmington continues its road stretch on Tuesday, September 2, with a non-conference matchup at Bloomington Jefferson. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
