ST. MICHAEL, Minn. – Farmington High School turned in an impressive performance at the 2026 Minnesota State High School League Class AAA Track & Field Championships, held June 4-6 at St. Michael-Albertville High School. The Tigers were highlighted by a pair of state championships from junior hurdler Aaron Geiken, while multiple athletes earned all-state honors and podium finishes against the state's top competition.

Geiken delivered one of the top performances of the meet, winning both the boys 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles. He claimed the 110 hurdles state title in 14.04 seconds after posting the fastest preliminary time of 14.27.
Later in the meet, Geiken added a second championship in the 300 hurdles, running 36.80 to capture another Class AAA crown after leading the preliminaries with a time of 36.87.
Farmington's girls distance program also earned a runner-up finish as Lauren Lansing placed second in the girls 800-meter run. The junior advanced through preliminaries in 2:09.99 before improving to 2:09.55 in the championship final to secure 10 team points and all-state honors.
Senior Vanessa Oguamanam reached the finals in both sprint events she entered and finished among the state's best. She placed fourth in the girls 400-meter dash in 54.88 and seventh in the girls 200-meter dash in 24.91 after advancing through the preliminary rounds in both events.
Farmington added another all-state finish in the boys 110-meter hurdles, where Logan Lindstrom placed ninth in 14.91 after qualifying for the final with a 14.95 performance in preliminaries.
In distance events, Carter Lippold earned a ninth-place finish in the boys 3200-meter run with a time of 9:17.01, while eighth-grader Shelby Carroll competed in the girls 1600-meter run and finished 17th in 5:18.66.
Other state qualifiers included Adam Johnson, who finished 11th in the boys 800-meter preliminaries with a time of 1:56.42, narrowly missing a berth in the final. Also, Rocco Fulk finished 13th in the discus throw with a throw of 153-03 and Cole Busse finished 18th with a throw of 147-01. The boys 4x800 meter relay team of Patrick Carroll, Carter Lippold, Wesley Toensing, and Adam Johnson placed 6th with a time of 7:56.26.
