The Tigers got off to a hot start in their home debut, scoring less than a minute into the contest with
Morgan Mitchell.
Â
However, the Cougars would later equalize with a top shelf goal from Brynn O'Neill. The teams entered the first intermission locked at one.
Â
The entirety of the second period was a defensive battle with
Addison Moudry collecting a ton of nice saves to keep the score level at one. A tough angle shot late in the period just slid inside the right post for the Cougars second goal of the night. Lakeville South led 2-1 heading into the third period.
Â
The Cougars would tack on another goal in the third to make it a 3-1 contest, but the Tigers refused to give up. Minutes later,
Abby Gehrke got loose in the slot and hammered home a rebound into the back of the net to get back within one. However, the scoring would end there as Lakeville South squeezed out the 3-2 road win.
Â
The Tigers look to rebound at home vs Minnetonka in a week.
