Girls Hockey Picks Up Third SSC Win; Defeat Eagan 4-1

The Farmington Girls Hockey team notched their third conference win of the year, beating Eagan at home 4-1.

The Tigers killed off a penalty late in the first period and Makenna Kadrlik came up with a timely steal of the puck right as the penalty expired and scored the first goal of the contest unassisted.

Abby Gehrke snuck away on a breakaway in the final seconds of the first period when she was tripped up en route to the net. A penalty shot would ensue; however, she was stopped by the Eagan tender.

The Tigers were not fazed however as they notched their second goal of the game behind an assist from Kadrlik to Gehrke to put the Tigers up 2-0.

The Tigers committed a total of five penalties through two periods of play, but the penalty kill unit was perfect.

Eagan broke through in the third period for their first goal to cut the deficit to 2-1 with five minutes remaining, but the Tigers held on and scored two empty-net goals to put the contest away.

Makenna Kadrlik finished with two goals and an assist while Kennedy Meier tacked on the final goal.
