After a nine-day layoff, the Tigers returned to their home ice to host the Shakopee Sabers.

Both goaltenders shined bright for the first period as both teams were scoreless after one. However, the Sabers committed a costly penalty in the final seconds of the period.

The Tigers immediately took advantage on the power play just a minute into the second period.
Kennedy Meier redirected the puck into the back of the net off the assist from Madison Kaderlik.

The rest of the period was wild. The Sabers equalized late in the period to even the contest at one. Moments later
Abby Gehrke scored her second goal in as many contests.

The Tigers looked like they were on their way to the locker room with the lead, but a turnover in the last minute evened up the score again this time at two.

The Tigers opened up the third period almost immediately with another goal and retook the lead 3-2. The Tigers then proceeded to pour it on and erupted for six total goals in the final period.

The Tigers team effort helped award them their first win of the year, 8-3 over Shakopee.
