Girls Hockey Adds To Win Total With 5-3 Victory Over Eastview

Farmington, Minn. -- The Farmington High School girls hockey team added another win to the 2023-24 season's total with a 5-3 victory over SSC opponent, Eastview, on Saturday.

It was the Lightning who would light the lamp first scoring the first period's only goal at 5:50. The period ended with Eastview leading 1-0.

The Tigers came out of the locker room on a tear as Jenna Goblirsch scored a power play goal assisted by Kennedy Meier to tie the game at 1. Morgan Mitchell found the back of the net next after her even strength goal from Jenna Goblirsch and Josey Empey gave the Tigers a 2-1 lead. Payton Blom would score an unassisted goal at 12:43 to extend the Tigers' lead to 3-1.

As the period closed, Eastview would score twice to even things up heading into the break.

In a third period dominated by the Tigers, Jenna Goblirsch scored her second of the afternoon giving the Tigers the lead once again. Paige Johnson put the insurance goal in net for Farmington at 14:47 when she scored courtesy of Kenney Meier.

The Tigers move to 6-1-0 on the season.
