Eden Prairie, Minn. -- In a highly anticipated boys basketball match-up on Friday, December 15, the Farmington Tigers clashed with the Eden Prairie Eagles at Eden Prairie High School.
The Tigers showcased their dominance, securing an impressive 83-68 victory in a non-conference showdown. With this win, Farmington High School's boys basketball team maintained their flawless record, improving to 5-0 for the season.
The game opened with a competitive first half, as both teams exchanged baskets, with Farmington holding a narrow 43-37 lead at the half. The Tigers would outscore the Eagles 40-31 in the second frame en route to their victory.Â
Farmington demonstrated efficiency in field goal percentage, shooting at 44.6%, and an even more impressive effective field goal percentage of 51.4%. Their success continued beyond the arc, connecting on 45.5% of three-point attempts. The Tigers also excelled in transition, scoring 8 points, and capitalized on second chance opportunities, securing 23 points in that category.
In contrast, the Eden Prairie Eagles faced challenges in their shooting game, posting a 40.6% field goal percentage and a mere 20.7% from three-point range. Despite a solid 75.0% free throw percentage, they couldn't match Farmington's overall offensive prowess.
