Farmington, Minn. -- In a South Suburban Conference clash, the Farmington Tigers faced a tough challenge against the Eagan Wildcats in boys swimming and diving. The meet unfolded with intense competition, resulting in a final score of Eagan 92, Farmington 83. Despite the team loss, several standout performances highlighted the Tigers' efforts.
Adam Moorlach showcased his prowess in the pool, clinching victory in the 200-yard freestyle with an impressive time of 1:53.22. Justin Raymond excelled in the 100-yard backstroke, securing first place with a time of 1:01.40. Jake Peterson dominated the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 1:05.37 for another crucial win.
The relay events proved to be a strong point for Farmington. The quartet of Adam Moorlach, Hantruy Nguyen, Eli Montgomery, and Jake Peterson triumphed in the 400-yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 3:35.70. Noteworthy improvements were seen in the Tiger boys' 200 Medley Relay, where the team of Justin Raymond, Hudson Maakestad, Daniel Budde, and Will Grimm dropped an impressive 16 seconds from their best time.
Individual achievements shone through as well, with Eli Montgomery, a sophomore, setting a new personal best and slashing over 15 seconds from his time in the Boys 200 IM.
Eagan's diver, Owen Kipp, stole the spotlight by breaking a 13-year-old pool record with a remarkable score of 314.85.
