Swimmers Set School Record at MSHSL Boys State Swimming & Diving Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers boys swimming and diving team competed at the MSHSL State Championships February 26-28 at the University of Minnesota's Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center, highlighted by a school-record performance in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

In Friday's preliminary session, the Tigers' 200 freestyle relay team of Tyler West, Justin Raymond, Eli Montgomery, and Hantruy Nguyen delivered a record-breaking swim, finishing 11th with a time of 1:26.72. The mark established a new Farmington High School record and advanced the quartet to Saturday night's consolation finals.

Farmington also competed in the 400 freestyle relay, with the same four swimmers combining for a time of 3:17.04 in the prelims. The Tigers placed 23rd overall in the event to close out their Friday competition.

On Saturday evening, the 200 freestyle relay returned to the pool for the consolation final. The Tigers posted a time of 1:26.99 to secure an 11th-place finish overall in Class AA competition.
