MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers boys swimming & diving team concluded a successful season at the MSHSL Class AA State Meet, held March 6-8 at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Minnesota. Farmington was represented by standout senior Adam Moorlach and the 200-yard freestyle relay team, all of whom delivered strong performances on the state's biggest stage.
DAY 1 – PRELIMS
The Tigers secured their spots in the finals after a competitive preliminary session. Adam Moorlach qualified for the consolation finals in both of his individual events, placing 13th in the 50-yard freestyle (21.53) and 16th in the 100-yard freestyle (47.80). The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Moorlach, Tyler West, Eli Montgomery, and Hantruy Nguyen advanced as well, qualifying in 12th place with a time of 1:28.52.
DAY 2 – FINALS
The Tigers closed out the meet with impressive swims in the finals. Moorlach finished 12th overall in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.57. The highlight of the night came in the 200-yard freestyle relay, where the team of Moorlach, West, Montgomery, and Nguyen shattered a 13-year-old Farmington High School record, posting a time of 1:28.09 and finishing 12th overall in the state.
The Tigers will return a strong core next season, as juniors Montgomery, Nguyen, and West gain valuable experience from this state meet. However, they will say farewell to senior leader Adam Moorlach, who leaves behind a lasting impact on the program with his top finishes and record-breaking performances.
