Tigers Pick Up SSC Victory With Win Over Shakopee

Shakopee, Minn. --In an exhilarating matchup, the Farmington High School boys' swimming and diving team claimed their inaugural victory of the season, prevailing over the Shakopee Sabers with a final score of 97-87 on Tuesday, December 19. The win not only marked a pivotal moment for the Tigers but also propelled them to a 1-2 record in conference dual meets.

In the diving competition, the introduction of new talents proved fruitful for the Tigers. Justin Raymond, a sophomore, showcased his skills by securing 1st place in diving, closely followed by the impressive performances of Logan Lescher (Freshman) and Collin Hawkins. The JV division witnessed notable achievements, with Wyatt Conine, a sophomore, dominating the 50 and 100 Freestyle events, clinching 1st place. Freshman Evan Christensen demonstrated significant improvement, finishing 3rd in the 100 Freestyle with a time drop of over 3 seconds.

In varsity action, Hantruy Nguyen continued his stellar form, clinching 1st place in the 200 Freestyle. Daniel Budde showcased a remarkable performance, securing 4th place while shaving over 7 seconds off his personal best. The 200 IM category saw Farmington dominating with Jake Peterson securing 1st, Eli Mongomery in 3rd, and Tyler West in 4th. Adam Moorlach, a junior, asserted his dominance by winning the 50 Freestyle, while freshman Eli Gobar impressed with a substantial 3-second improvement in the same event.

The 100 Butterfly witnessed another triumph for Adam Moorlach, displaying his prowess with a 1st-place finish, while sophomore Hudson Maakestad contributed to the team's success with a 3rd-place finish. The Tigers exhibited both speed and skill, setting an optimistic tone for future competitions. With eyes set on January, Farmington High School's boys' swimming and diving team eagerly anticipates their next challenge, building on the momentum gained from this decisive victory.
