South St. Paul, Minn. -- In the 36th Annual South St. Paul Premier Tournament held at the Doug Woog Arena in St. Paul, the Farmington Tigers faced a series of challenging matchups.
In their opening game against the St. Louis Park Orioles, the Tigers emerged victorious with a narrow 4-3 win. Despite being outshot 37 to 11, Farmington showcased resilience, capitalizing on one of their power plays while holding St. Louis Park to a 50% success rate on their man advantages. Moving into the semifinals, the Tigers encountered a formidable opponent in the Woodbury Royals, resulting in a 7-0 defeat. Woodbury dominated the scoring, with Aiden Grossklaus netting two goals and Caden Schlattman adding another. In the battle for third place against the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets, Farmington fell short, succumbing to a 3-1 loss. The Tigers struggled on the power play, going 0 for 4, while Cambridge-Isanti capitalized on their chances. Jack Budde scored the lone goal for Farmington, but it wasn't enough to secure the victory.
