Eagan, Minn. -- In a highly anticipated wrestling dual match at Eagan High School on Thursday, January 25, the Farmington Tigers emerged victorious over the Eagan Wildcats with a final score of 37-31. The evening marked the return of standout wrestler and Stanford commit,
Cole Han-Lindemyer, adding an extra layer of excitement to the matchup.
The dual started with Evan St. Germain of Eagan securing a victory over Bradley Green from Farmington in the 107-pound weight class, putting Eagan in an early lead of 6-0. Eagan continued to make their mark, with Dylan St. Germain winning a major decision over Tyler Chenevert in the 114-pound weight class, extending their lead to 10-0.
Farmington, however, quickly turned the tide in the 121-pound weight class as Blake Han-Lindemyer secured a technical fall victory over Andrew Stern, earning five points for the Tigers. This marked the beginning of Farmington's comeback, with Zach Olson and Davis Parrow securing victories in the 133-pound and 139-pound weight classes, respectively.
Ethan Mangowi's narrow victory over Karson Thissen in the 145-pound weight class further bolstered Farmington's position. The 160-pound weight class saw Edon Davis of Farmington pinning Rylan Baker, contributing six crucial points to the team's total.
Despite a strong effort from Eagan, including victories by Logan Gilbertson and Jake Tuchscherer in the 152-pound and 172-pound weight classes, Farmington's Cole Han-Lindemyer returned with a statement win, pinning Alex Loes in the 189-pound weight class.
Farmington secured the victory with additional wins by William Preston in the 215-pound weight class and John Freeburg's win for Eagan in the 285-pound weight class. The final team score reflected Farmington's successful comeback, sealing the dual match with a score of 37-31 in favor of the Tigers.
