ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers wrestling team competed at the MSHSL Class AAA State Wrestling Tournament February 25-28 at Grand Casino Arena, highlighted by senior Davis Parrow capturing his second career state championship at 152 pounds.
RECAP
Parrow (48-1) closed out his senior season in dominant fashion, earning a 17-2 technical fall over Dane Ellingsberg of Moorhead in the championship round of 16 before defeating Gavin Jackson of St. Michael-Albertville by 18-2 technical fall in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Parrow secured a 7-4 decision over George Jones of Stillwater to advance to the title match. In the 1st Place Match, he delivered an 8-3 decision over Easton Dircks of Brainerd to secure his second state championship and cap an outstanding career.
At 145 pounds, senior Ethan Mangowi (43-4) battled back after a narrow 2-1 tiebreaker loss in the semifinals to earn a third-place finish. Mangowi opened with a 17-1 technical fall over Luke Gardner of Eagan and added a 4-2 decision against Isaac Leonard of Stillwater in the quarterfinals. After dropping his semifinal bout, he responded with a 7-0 decision in the consolation semifinals and edged Dane Krull of Coon Rapids 4-3 in the third-place match.
Junior Alexandra Thovson (22-4) placed third in the Girls 118-pound division. Thovson pinned Vivian Diaz of South St. Paul in the championship round of 16 and earned a 15-7 major decision in the quarterfinals. Following a semifinal loss to eventual champion Charli Raymond of Simley, Thovson recorded back-to-back decisions in the consolation semifinals and third-place match, finishing with a 5-1 victory over Alleena Johnson of Northfield.
Additional state qualifiers competed throughout the tournament. Blake Han-Lindemyer earned a consolation quarterfinal win at 127 pounds, and Lucas Stevens advanced to the consolation quarterfinals at 107 pounds. In the girls division, Sophia Graham and Kennedi Lazaretti gained valuable state experience, with Graham earning a consolation victory at 190 pounds.
