Blaine, Minn. -- In a boys hockey showdown on Thursday night at the National Sports Center in Blaine, MN, the Farmington Tigers secured their third win of the season, defeating the Irondale Knights with a final score of 3-0.
The Tigers, are now 3-10 overall and 0-4 in the SSC. Irondale drops to 3-7.Â
The scoring action commenced in the first period when Farmington's #8 Nick Marsh netted a goal at 16:25, capitalizing on even-strength play with an assist from #29 Brandon Risch. The second period remained scoreless for both teams, setting the stage for an intense final frame.
In the third period, the Tigers extended their lead with two more goals. At 5:15, #3 Blake Farrell found the back of the net, scoring an even-strength goal assisted by Nick Marsh. With just 1:12 left on the clock, Farmington's #11 Jacob Miller sealed the victory with an empty-net goal, assisted by Nick Marsh once again. The Tigers' defensive efforts, combined with solid goaltending, held the Irondale Knights scoreless throughout the game.
