FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers earned a hard-fought 3-1 win over Section 1AA opponent Rochester Century on Thursday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The Tigers, now 2-6 on the season, relied on timely scoring and exceptional defensive play to close out the victory.
RECAP
The Tigers struck first in the opening period when Samuel Bridgeman scored at 2:53 to give Farmington an early lead. Rochester Century responded later in the period as Cooper Torgrimson tied the game at 14:03. Both teams entered the first intermission knotted at 1-1.
Farmington regained the lead in the second period with a goal from Jack Budde at 3:58, assisted by Kellen Conway and Leyton Grant. The Tigers' defense held strong, and the team carried a 2-1 advantage into the third period.
In the final frame, Rochester Century pressed hard. A pair of penalties at 14:00 would put the Panthers at a 5-on-3 advantage in the final minutes of the game. The Tigers' penalty-kill unit and goaltender Chris Bade stood tall to maintain the lead.
Jackson Donahue sealed the game at 16:23 with a power-play, empty-net goal assisted by Conway, ensuring Farmington's victory.
