LAKEVILLE, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers edged Lakeville North in a thrilling 4-3 road victory on Tuesday night. The win improves Farmington's record to 7-4-1 overall and 6-1-1 in South Suburban Conference play, placing the Tigers in second place in the conference standings.
RECAP
Lakeville North struck first with two quick goals in the opening period, but the Tigers responded late in the frame. Kennedy Meier found the back of the net on a power play, assisted by Amara Zens and Lexi Giller, to cut the deficit to 2-1 heading into the second period.
Farmington carried that momentum into the second frame, scoring twice to take the lead. Jenna Goblirsch tied the game with an even-strength goal off a setup from Norah Kratz. Moments later, Paige Johnson scored the go-ahead goal with an assist from Payton Blom. Lakeville North managed to even the score before the period ended, making it 3-3 heading into the final 17 minutes.
In the third period, Taylor Risch delivered the game-winning goal just over six minutes in, with assists from Amelia Goblirsch and Jenna Goblirsch. The Tigers' defense, backed by goaltender Makena Underwood's 21 saves, held strong to secure the victory.
