SOUTH ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers opened the South St. Paul Premier Tournament with a decisive 8-1 victory over the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars at Doug Woog Arena. The win marked a significant turnaround for the Tigers, who avenged a 4-0 loss to Jefferson earlier this season on December 3.

Farmington wasted no time establishing dominance, scoring five goals in the opening period to take control early. Jack Budde found the back of the net just 51 seconds into the game, setting the tone for the Tigers. Tegan Gylling and Jacob Miller added to the early lead, with Budde netting his second goal at 12:40. Jackson Donahue capped the explosive first period with a goal at 15:31, giving Farmington a commanding 5-0 lead heading into the break.
The Tigers maintained their offensive momentum in the second period, adding three more goals. Mason Rodgers scored just 20 seconds in, followed by Budde completing his hat trick at 3:14. Leyton Grant tacked on the final goal for Farmington at 9:50.
Bloomington Jefferson's lone goal came midway through the second period, but the Tigers' defense, led by goaltender Chris Bade, would not allow another goal. Bade stopped 22 of 23 shots while Berreman stopped 3 of 3 shots in relief, keeping the Jaguars off the board in the third period.

Farmington advances to the tournament semifinals, where they will face the Hastings Raiders on December 31 at 5:00 p.m. Hastings enters the matchup after a convincing 7-1 win over South St. Paul.
