FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers were unable to find their offensive rhythm in a 4-0 loss to the Bloomington Jefferson Jaguars on Tuesday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The defeat dropped the Tigers to 0-2 on the young season, while the Jaguars improved to 2-0.
RECAP
The Jaguars struck early and often, capitalizing on special teams opportunities. Bloomington Jefferson opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 4:41 of the first period and added an even-strength tally less than seven minutes later to take a 2-0 lead.
Despite strong penalty killing and stellar goaltending from Chris Bade, the Tigers allowed a second-period goal and a late power-play goal in the third, sealing the loss. Bade faced 33 shots and made 29 saves, keeping Farmington within reach throughout the game.
Offensively, the Tigers managed 32 shots on goal, but Bloomington Jefferson goaltender Owen Matthews turned away every attempt, earning a shutout victory.
Farmington's power-play unit struggled to convert, going 0-for-5, while the Jaguars were efficient, scoring three power-play goals on six chances.
