EAGAN, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers secured their first win of the season with a 5-2 victory over the Eagan Wildcats on Saturday afternoon in a South Suburban Conference matchup. The Tigers improved to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in SSC play with a strong all-around effort.
RECAP
Farmington opened the scoring in the first period when Adam Jelmo netted an even-strength goal at 8:05, assisted by Jackson Donahue and Justin Harrison. Eagan quickly responded, tying the game at 14:42 on a goal by Jake Woog, leaving the teams deadlocked at 1-1 heading into the second period.
In the second, the Tigers took control. Jacob Miller scored a short-handed goal just 18 seconds into the frame, with an assist from Evrett Bennett. Farmington extended their lead to 3-1 at 4:59 when Mason Rodgers found the back of the net, assisted by AJ Vinar and Jack Budde. Eagan's Woog struck again at 14:33, narrowing the score to 3-2 heading into the final period.
Farmington sealed the win in the third period. Nick Marsh scored just 10 seconds in, with Donahue picking up his second assist of the game. Rodgers added his second goal of the night at 1:34, cementing the Tigers' victory.
