Farmington, Minn. -- In the Section 2AAA Team Tournament, the Farmington Tigers vied for a chance to advance to the MSHSL Class AAA tournament as a team.
Seeded second, they commenced their journey with a quarterfinal clash against the Lakeville South Cougars, seeded seventh. The Tigers asserted their dominance early on, securing a commanding 43-24 victory over the Cougars. Notable performances included
Tyler Chenevert's swift pin in the 114-pound bout and
Davis Parrow's quick fall in the 139-pound category.
Moving into the semifinals, Farmington faced off against the New Prague Trojans, seeded third. The match proved to be a closely contested battle, with both teams showcasing their tenacity on the mat. Despite formidable efforts from Farmington, they fell short to the Trojans with a final score of 33-27. Tyler Chenevert's solid victory in the 114-pound division and Edon Davis's impressive fall in the 160-pound category were highlights for the Tigers, but ultimately, they couldn't overcome New Prague's determined performance.
With their journey in the Section 2AAA Team Tournament concluding in the semifinals, the Farmington Tigers displayed resilience and skill throughout their campaign, despite falling short of securing a spot in the MSHSL Class AAA tournament as a team.
