St. Paul, Minn. -- #4 Farmington boys basketball picked up an historic win at the MSHSL Class AAAA boys state basketball tournament consolation semifinal game on Thursday morning. The Tigers, seeking their first-ever state tournament basketball victory, delivered an impressive performance, defeating Rogers with a commanding score of 98-69.
From the onset, Farmington asserted their dominance, building a substantial lead in the first half. Their offense was firing on all cylinders, with contributions from multiple players. Brandon Hrncir and Liam Roche led the charge, each scoring 20 points, while Justin Stoneburg added 12 points to the scoreboard. The team's cohesive play and relentless determination propelled them to a 49-34 advantage by halftime.
The Tigers maintained their intensity in the second half, refusing to relinquish their lead. Their defensive efforts stifled Rogers' offense, limiting their scoring opportunities. Farmington's depth was on full display as Nik Domier and Marshall Gordan contributed 11 and 10 points, respectively. With a well-rounded performance from the entire roster, Farmington sealed the victory with a final score of 98-69.
With this historic win, Farmington High School's boys basketball team continues to make strides in the state tournament.
