FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers faced a tough opponent on Tuesday night, falling 4-1 to the Lakeville South Cougars at Schmitz-Maki Arena in South Suburban Conference action. The loss moves the Tigers to 13-6-2 overall and 9-2-1 in SSC play.

After a scoreless first period, Lakeville South broke through early in the second, with Josie Grossman opening the scoring at 3:10. The Cougars capitalized on a defensive miscue just under a minute later, with Kai Emerson netting another to double their lead. Grossman struck again at 11:03, giving Lakeville South a commanding 3-0 advantage heading into the final period.
Farmington responded in the third, with Lexi Giller finding the back of the net at 13:05 for the Tigers' lone goal. Despite their best efforts, the Tigers were unable to close the gap, and Camden Hopper sealed the win for Lakeville South with an empty-net goal at 15:19.
The Tigers outshot the Cougars 37-12 but struggled to convert their chances, as Lakeville South goalie Snow Banks turned aside 36 of Farmington's shots for an impressive .973 save percentage.
