FARMINGTON, Minn. – In an evenly matched contest, the Farmington Tigers and Hastings Raiders played to a 3-3 tie on Tuesday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The game marked a hard-fought non-conference matchup with both teams showcasing strong offensive and defensive efforts.
RECAP
Farmington jumped out to an early lead in the first period. Layla Garofalo opened the scoring just 3:58 into the game, assisted by Amara Zens and Josey Empey. Later in the period, Amelia Goblirsch doubled the lead with an even-strength goal at 16:36, assisted by her sister Jenna Goblirsch and Taylor Risch, giving the Tigers a 2-0 advantage heading into the second period.
Hastings responded in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals. Kacey Plank struck first at 7:57, followed by goals from Haley Siebenaler and Anni Schriefer, the latter coming on a power play to give the Raiders a 3-2 lead.
Farmington tied the game early in the third period when Josey Empey found the back of the net at 3:49, assisted by Layla Garofalo. Despite multiple scoring chances for both teams, the game remained deadlocked through the remainder of regulation and overtime.
Farmington goaltender Makena Underwood had a strong performance, making 28 saves on 31 shots. Hastings goalie Victoria Steinke also impressed with 29 saves on 32 shots.
