FARMINGTON, Minn. – In a hard-fought battle at Schmitz-Maki Arena on Tuesday night, the Farmington Tigers came up just short, falling 2-1 in overtime to the Eastview Lightning. The loss drops the Tigers to 7-11-1 overall and 3-8-0 in South Suburban Conference play.

Eastview struck first late in the opening period, as Austin Dwyer found the back of the net at 13:23 to give the Lightning a 1-0 lead. The second period was a defensive battle, with both teams trading scoring chances, but neither able to convert.
Farmington finally broke through in the third period when Jacob Miller buried the equalizer off assists from Jackson Donahue and Drake Anderson at 15:05, forcing overtime.
In the extra session, a late penalty put the Tigers on the penalty kill, and Eastview capitalized. Dwyer netted his second goal of the night on the power play at 6:08 to seal the win for the Lightning.
Goaltender Chris Bade had a strong night for Farmington, stopping 36 of 38 shots, but Eastview's Zachary Wakefield was just as sharp, turning away 36 of 37 shots to earn the victory.
