FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers secured a decisive 6-3 victory over the Shakopee Sabers on Saturday afternoon at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The win lifts Farmington to an 11-5-1 overall record and 7-1-1 in South Suburban Conference (SSC) play, placing the Tigers second in the standings behind Rosemount.

Farmington jumped out to an early lead, with Kennedy Meier opening the scoring at 9:07 in the first period, assisted by Jenna and Amelia Goblirsch. Just over a minute later, Layla Garofalo capitalized on a power play opportunity, netting the Tigers' second goal with assists from Lexi Giller and Paige Johnson.
The Tigers continued their offensive momentum in the second period as Taylor Risch found the back of the net just 53 seconds in, followed by Julia Gerwing's goal at 4:47. Shakopee responded with a goal at 10:43, but Farmington struck again, with Lexi Giller scoring shorthanded to give the Tigers a commanding 5-1 lead entering the third.
Despite two third-period goals from Shakopee's Hannah Grabianowski and Emerson Young, Farmington sealed the win with Jenna Goblirsch's goal at 16:01, assisted by Amelia Goblirsch and Taylor Risch.
Farmington outshot Shakopee 38-32 and converted on their only power play, while holding Shakopee scoreless on three opportunities.
