Farmington Secures SSC Victory Over Apple Valley/Burnsville

FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers earned an important South Suburban Conference win on Tuesday night, defeating Apple Valley/Burnsville 5-2 at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The victory improves the Tigers to 5-7-1 overall and 2-5-0 in SSC play.

RECAP
The Tigers and Apple Valley/Burnsville faced off for the first time this season, and Farmington showcased a balanced attack to claim the win. After a power-play goal from Fisher Hatfield gave Apple Valley/Burnsville a 1-0 lead, Farmington answered late in the first period when Nick Marsh found the back of the net off assists from Jackson Donahue and AJ Vinar to tie the game at 1-1.

Farmington took control in the second period, scoring three goals. Marsh netted his second of the night on the power play, with assists from Mason Rodgers and Tanner Gylling. Jacob Miller followed with an even-strength goal, and Tanner Gylling added another, assisted by Miller and Tegan Gylling, to extend the lead to 4-2 heading into the final period.

In the third, AJ Vinar capped the scoring with a goal assisted by Marsh and Adam Jelmo. Goaltender Chris Bade was outstanding, stopping 40 of 42 shots to anchor the Tigers' defense.
