OWATONNA, Minn. – Farmington High School opened the 2025-26 girls hockey season with a convincing 4-0 shutout victory over Owatonna in a non-conference matchup Tuesday night at the Steele County Four Seasons Centre. The Tigers used a fast start, strong special teams, and a dominant shot advantage to secure the road win in their season debut.
Farmington opened the scoring early in the first period on a power play goal by Norah Kratz at 2:28, converting the Tigers' first opportunity with the skater advantage. After a scoreless second period, the Tigers pulled away in the final frame with a flurry of goals. Kamryn Bahn doubled the lead at 7:55, assisted by Kratz. Just over a minute later, Taylor Risch capitalized on another power play chance to make it 3-0, with assists from Jenna Goblirsch and Payton Blom. Blom added a goal of her own at 14:13 to cap the scoring, assisted by Alexis Giller.
Farmington controlled play throughout, outshooting the Huskies 49-12, including a dominant 24-4 margin in the second period. The Tigers converted on two of their four power plays and killed off both Owatonna opportunities. Goaltender Makena Underwood turned aside all 12 shots she faced to earn the shutout in net.
