FARMINGTON, Minn. – The Farmington High School girls hockey team remained unbeaten on the season with a 4-1 victory over South Suburban Conference rival Lakeville South on Thursday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena. The win lifts the Tigers to 4-0 overall as they prepare for a highly anticipated matchup with Edina on Saturday.

The Tigers grabbed momentum early in the first period when Payton Blom opened the scoring at 6:27 on an even-strength goal assisted by Ryann Bengston and Josey Empey. Farmington added to its lead early in the second period when Bengston buried a shot just over two minutes in, with Blom and Kamryn Bahn providing the setup.
Later in the second, the Tigers capitalized on their only power-play opportunity of the night. Amelia Goblirsch scored at 11:32 off assists from Jenna Goblirsch and Taylor Risch, giving Farmington a 3-0 cushion heading into the third.
Lakeville South got on the board midway through the final frame with a power-play goal by Maddie Kidwell, but Farmington quickly answered. Blom tallied her second goal of the night with just one second remaining, sealing the 4-1 win.
Farmington finished a perfect 1-for-1 on the power play, while Lakeville South went 1-for-4. The Tigers outshot the Cougars 27-18, and goaltender Makena Underwood turned away 17 shots to earn the win.

Farmington returns to action on Saturday, November 23, when they host Edina at Schmitz-Maki Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The two teams last met in the 2025 MSHSL Class AA Girls Hockey State Tournament.
