FARMINGTON, Minn. – For the first time in over 20 years, the Farmington Tigers boys hockey team has opened the season 3-0, following a thrilling 6-5 overtime victory over Eagan on Saturday night at Schmitz-Maki Arena.

RECAP
After trailing 2-1 following the first period, Farmington exploded for four goals in the second to take a 5-3 lead into the third. Eagan rallied with two quick goals to open the final frame, tying the game at 5-5 just two minutes in. Neither team could find the winner in regulation, sending the game to overtime.

At 3:30 of the extra session, Leyton Grant delivered the game-winner for the Tigers on an even-strength goal to complete the dramatic home victory.

Farmington outshot the Wildcats 42-35 and capitalized on its lone power-play opportunity. Eagan finished 0-for-1 on the man advantage. Chris Bade made 30 saves in net for the Tigers.

• Leyton Grant scored the overtime winner to seal the Tigers' third straight win.
• Tegan Gylling opened the scoring in the first period, assisted by his brother, Tanner Gylling.
• Jack Budde and Drake Anderson each scored in the second period, with assists from Justin Harrison and Isaac Dapper, respectively.
• Jackson Donahue netted a power-play goal midway through the second, assisted by Joe Hambrecht and Caden Sullivan.
• Tanner Gylling added a goal of his own late in the second to cap a four-goal period for Farmington.
• Chris Bade turned away 30 shots between the pipes to earn the win.

Farmington hits the road for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, December 9, at Austin Riverside Arena in Austin, Minn. Puck drop against the Packers is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
