APPLE VALLEY, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers battled but came up short on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 4-2 decision to Apple Valley/Burnsville at Apple Valley Sports Arena. With the loss, the Tigers slip to 9-13-1 overall and 3-10-0 in South Suburban Conference play.

Apple Valley/Burnsville struck first on the power play in the opening period when Dylan Otten found the back of the net at 10:11. The Tigers had opportunities but were unable to capitalize in the first 17 minutes.
In the second period, Otten extended the Eagles' lead just 39 seconds in, and Fisher Hatfield made it 3-0 at the 5:24 mark. Farmington responded late in the period as Tegan Gylling scored a power-play goal off assists from Mason Rodgers and AJ Vinar to trim the deficit to 3-1 heading into the final frame.
Otten completed his hat trick for Apple Valley/Burnsville with an even-strength goal at 8:58 in the third period, restoring the Eagles' three-goal cushion. The Tigers answered quickly, with Will Harris netting a goal at 10:37, assisted by Leyton Grant and Evrett Bennett. Despite late pressure from Farmington, the Eagles held firm to secure the 4-2 victory.
Goaltender Chris Bade made 22 saves on 26 shots for the Tigers, while Apple Valley/Burnsville's Max Wiggins stopped 23 of 25 shots in net.
