Farmington Tigers Cruise to Victory Over Burnsville

BURNSVILLE, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers boys' swim and dive team put together a dominant performance in their dual meet against Burnsville on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The Tigers secured a commanding varsity victory with a final score of 91-66.


RECAP

The Tigers kicked off the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, as the team of Justin Raymond, Hudson Maakestad, Collin Hawkins, and Max Thompson clocked in at 2:02.62

In the 200-yard freestyle, Eli Montgomery delivered a strong performance, finishing first with a time of 1:56.00, followed by Eli Gobar in second place (2:04.94) and Wyatt Conine in third (2:16.65)

Justin Raymond continued the Tigers' momentum in the 200-yard individual medley (IM), securing first place in 2:08.95, while Hawkins and Daniel Budde followed in second (2:17.99) and third place (2:18.88)

Sprinter Hantruy Nguyen dominated the 50-yard freestyle, taking first place in 23.55, while Tyler West earned second place (24.66) and Hudson Maakestad finished third (25.53)

In the 100-yard butterfly, Nguyen claimed first place (58.21), followed closely by Maakestad in second (59.14)

The 100-yard freestyle saw another first-place finish for Montgomery (52.99), while West finished second (55.96)

The distance events featured a standout swim from Daniel Budde, who finished first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:36.26), with Wyatt Ziegler securing second place (6:01.22)

Farmington's 200-yard freestyle relay team of Montgomery, Noah Roth, Emilio Loza, and Gobar earned first place with a strong time of 1:50.23.

In the 100-yard backstroke, Wyatt Conine finished with a solid time of 1:05.43, while Gobar followed closely at 1:05.93.

The meet concluded with an exciting 400-yard freestyle relay, where the team of Roth, Budde, Gobar, and West posted a time of 4:01.39, sealing Farmington's dominant team performance.

UP NEXT
The Tigers will compete in the Diving Invitational on Saturday, February 15, at 11:00 a.m. in Hastings.
Looking ahead, Farmington will race in the Section 1AA Swimming Prelims on Saturday, February 26 at the Rochester Recreation Center.
