OWATONNA, Minn. – The Farmington Tigers earned a trip to the MSHSL Class AA Girls State Hockey Tournament with a dominant 3-0 victory over Northfield in the Section 1AA championship on Thursday night at the Steele County Four Seasons Centre. The Tigers return to the state tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season.
RECAP
The Tigers struck first late in the opening period when Layla Garofalo buried a shot off feeds from Josey Empey and Addison Trapp at 14:33. In the second, Taylor Risch doubled the lead just 2:31 in, scoring from Jenna and Amelia Goblirsch's crisp passes. Risch sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 15:41 of the third.
Farmington's defense dominated, holding Northfield to 15 shots and neutralizing all three of their power-play opportunities. Goalie Addison Moudry delivered a flawless performance with 15 saves to secure the shutout.

Farmington will compete in the MSHSL Class AA Girls State Hockey Tournament at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Game times and matchups will be announced following the tournament seeding.
